We're looking for an experienced, energetic person to manage MOSES' daily operations and develop systems to enhance organizational effectiveness. This is a new, full-time staff position at our office in Spring Valley, Wis., for someone who is familiar with the organic industry, has a passion for sustainability, and has experience managing a non-profit. Currently have 4 acres of vegetables in production and have the option to expand to 12 acres (the 5 year plan!)   Current income streams include a 55 member CSA, on site Farm Stand, a corporate Farm Market,  and the beginnings of relationships with local chefs and restaurateurs.  An opportunity to play a big part in our farm.  Responsibilities for this position will be all aspects of the vegetable product line.  The goal is to be Certified Naturally Grown, with all GAPS program specifics in place. Michael Field’s Stella Gardens is an intensively planted perennial fruit and annual vegetable garden that was designed to teach young farmers the fundamentals of soil health, garden biology, and successive rotations.  This internship runs from mid-March through October 31, Monday through Friday, 8am-5:30pm, and requires short chores on weekends. Interns assist the garden manager with the daily tasks of greenhouse sowing and management, building raised beds, hand sowing, transplanting, irrigation, weeding, pest management, harvest, post-harvest handling, and perennial propagation, planting, maintenance, and harvest.  The majority of this work is done by hand to build strong bodies and an intimate understanding of the importance of healthy soil.  The vegetables and fruits from Stella Gardens are marketed through an on-site farm stand and farmer’s market, and sold to local schools, CSAs, and other businesses.
